Horse | Human Partnership

Human Horse Partnership

The feeling beneath me is one of power, athleticism, grace…as we move through the meadow I realize that my partner, my horse, responds to my every thought.  We glide through the meadow, leg yielding our way around obstacles. My horse lifts into a lope effortlessly on cue and we change leads every few strides playfully.  It’s as if we are dancing and truthfully, we are… dancing our way down the trail, through the cattle and into the show ring as partners. This is not simply a dream, or just a memory… it’s what I have had the privilege of experiencing with my horse partners.

You might ask can anyone achieve this result. The answer is yes!  This level of partnership is possible for any horse/human team.  One simply has to learn how to communicate on horse terms, build relationship and trust, be consistent in all interactions and arrive in a fully present state.

How do you get there? By connecting with a coach/trainer who has the ability to teach simple and effective techniques in the ART of riding and partnership.  Every horse is different and so is every human.  Creating a basic foundation for each partnership is essential and done through proven techniques that are adapted for each human and each horse.  These techniques start with “like language” development on the ground that translates into the saddle and then down the trail, into the show ring or wherever you’re headed!

Cathy Huddleston took her first ride on a horse at the age of six months, began showing competitively at seven years, teaching and training since age 13 and loving and learning from horses her entire life. She completed her BA in Equine Studies at Park University and has spent her adult life making a career out of her passion.

“I have had the privilege of working with some of the top trainers in the country and with the most amazing people, beginners to advanced riders/competitors, and phenomenal horses.  Each has taught me new skills and reinforced consistent foundational focus.  I have laughed, learned and grown throughout and am passionate about passing on my life of learning with horses to you!”

Cathy’s available for Private or Semi-Private Lessons, performance and show ring coaching and clinic formats for beginner thru advanced riders and first time horse owners.  Give Cathy a call at 951-595-9312 or email cathy@challenge-u.com to begin the next chapter with you and your horse!
