Self Leadership

Self

What is self leadership? Or leadership of self? Are they the same? How does one develop as a leader? How does one lead oneself?

Think of the photo of the iceberg. Much of the iceberg is below the waterline; at least 75%. If you relate the iceberg to our conscious mind, much of what influences our day to day lives is subconscious or below the water line so to speak.

Our subconscious mind influences most of our viewpoints of life; possibilities, relationships, wealth, men and/or women,  every aspect of our world.  Here is the important piece. 80% of our beliefs are in place by the time we are 8 years old. These beliefs came from those who influenced us. Our parents, teachers, friends… From this statistic it would be accurate to offer that the way we approach our life is based on experiences we had and things we decided before the age of 8 years.

So what does this have to do with self leadership? We believe self leadership is the exploration of the way the subconscious mind is running our life vs. the way we want it to look today. It is the process of seeing how one is living life and if it aligns with each of our values. It is about taking stock of one’s life and bringing the “waterline” lower. It is about making choices and seeing possibilities from a current state.

If this idea intrigues you, living life from a current state of values, vision and possibility, then contact Challenge U to discuss options for a customized self leadership program.

What clients have said about Challenge-U self leadership programs:

“Saturday will forever be a day I will never forget. The tools that I learned have really helped me, and have left me wanting to know more. This experience helped me make connection to things I have pushed aside because I didn’t know how to deal with them. Now I feel pretty comfortable addressing those issues and staying true to me and defining my boundaries. The work you do is beautiful; it was a nice slow progression, and then the last exercise brought the entire day to a beautiful close. I appreciate your work and I am looking forward to the next opportunity.” Dawn

“I feel like a new person. I’m noticing so much about myself and I’m experiencing joy when I used to experience stress!”Barbara

“This was such a wonderful experience for me. I believe I will use the tools taught to me to help me better understand myself and others. I am looking forward to the next course.”DeAnna

“I just have to say…did you know it would be this amazing?????
I have finally grasped what happened on Wednesday enough to put it into words. I had no idea that that darn pole and jumping off of it would symbolize so much for me or that I had that much to work through! I have no idea what was holding me back from being the person I am but it is gone. I feel so light (though I wish that could be a physical reality as well
).

For the first time in years I actually feel worthy of being my true self. There was so much I learned.  But now I know truly who I am inside and what I am about and that I can do anything if I can jump off a 35ft pole!!! and I am sooo happy! I hope you two know just how much you are changing (and have changed) my life! You have given me the tools to see my true potential and change for myself which is amazing.” Jenn
