HEALTHY BOUNDARIES -
HOW TO SET & MAINTAIN
When boundaries are clear, consistent and congruent those who approach me will energetically feel my space before they even enter into my field or engage in an interaction. This takes practice with grounding techniques and feedback from others as to how we are perceived. The energy work we do with the horses helps in the discovery of our own boundaries and energy fields. I need to be able to define my personal space before I can differentiate between my energy and yours. Without clear boundaries we can experience enmeshment with another, which creates anxiety and confusion.
Clear and consistent boundaries allow us both to feel safe enough to engage in an interaction that is mutually beneficial. Join us on May 20th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Challenge U Ranch to explore how horses can teach us how to understand, set and honor boundaries in effective, healthy ways.

What is Equine Experiential Learning?
EEL uses a team approach, bringing together a trained facilitator and the horse, to assist individuals and groups. Through a collaborative learning process, people use experience with the horses and reflection to facilitate learning. The horses non-verbally reflect back instantly both the challenges and the success of our personal skills. It’s now commonly recognized that only ten percent of human communication is verbal, and yet we’ve virtually become mesmerized by words as our social and educational systems teach us to ignore the nonverbal dimension of relationships. Horses teach people how to access that other 90 percent.
Over the course of this engaging afternoon workshop, you can expect the following outcomes:
-
Practice how to set effective boundaries with people who, consciously or unconsciously, try to push others around;
-
Discover how to set limits that are appropriate for you;
-
Learn about energy fields and how to create space to communicate in a present state;
-
Understand that boundaries are both spoken/unspoken (verbal/nonverbal) and create a distinction between them;
-
Improve your relationships and communication through these tools around boundaries.
