All of Challenge U's team and communication focused trainings use Experiential Learning to develop the most important aspects of highly effective teams.

We start with the development of trust and build the skills necessary to have productive conflict, commitment, and accountability such that teams create the most effective process to produce the intended results. Our work with communication embraces feedback as a critical component to effectiveness.  We instill EQ - self awareness, self management, social awareness and social management - as the foundation to highly successful organizations with all of our communication trainings.

And we offer a variety of formats to support your unique logistical needs.

The foundation of personal and professional success lies in understanding self, understanding others and realizing the impact of personal behavior on the people around you. Everything DiSC® is an assessment tool that arms participants with an understanding of self and others in a specific environment, as well as what specific environments are most conducive to success. Participants learn about the differences in others and the environment they require for maximum productivity and teamwork in the organization. A video introduction shows just how valuable Everything DiSC® is!

What can you expect to gain from participating in Everything DiSC® with Challenge U?

  • Understand your own behavior and how it affects your communication, teamwork and leadership;

  • Learn how and when to adapt your behavior to be effective with other communication and  leadership styles;

  • Promote appreciation of differences in styles;

  • Enhance individual and team performance;

  • Understand how to effectively interact in conflict or stress situations.

Equine Experiential Learning

Communication is essential for effective personal and professional relationships. To be effective, it requires an awareness of what we are “not saying” with words. Horses are master communicators. So, isn’t it natural to learn from them how to better communicate? We think so. This training offers skills and tools to communicate with clarity of intent, congruence and use feedback to know what adjustments need to be made in order to create maximum efficiency and higher productivity in the workplace.

Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team

The single most untapped competitive advantage is teamwork. The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team is an assessment-based learning experience that helps individuals and organizations reveal what it takes to build a truly effective and cohesive team in the most approachable, competent, and effective way possible.

Powered by Everything DiSC®, profiles help participants understand their own DiSC styles. Bringing together everyone’s personalities and preferences to form a cohesive, productive team takes work, but the payoff is huge – for individuals, the team, and the organization.

A productive, high-functioning team:

  • Makes better, faster decisions;

  • Taps into the skills and opinions of all members;

  • Avoids wasting time and energy on politics, confusion, and destructive conflict;

  • Avoids wasting time talking about the wrong issues and revisiting the same topics over and over again because of a lack of buy-in;

  • Creates a competitive advantage;

  • Is more fun to be on!

Low Ropes

Low to the ground and growing in difficulty as the day progresses, the Low Ropes Course features a series of experiential activities that require a team to work together to complete a task. The group's current team dynamics are evident from the get-go, and participants discover, practice and develop new skills as they move through the exercises. Facilitators establish the context for each activity, observe the process and help the team recognize valuable insights with the intent of transferring learnings back to the workplace.

— A. Frank, OMHA

I am seeing marked improvement in team communication, goal identification and an increased willingness to participate in a group change process. Thank you again for your willingness to work with our Agency, and your flexibility in scheduling. Your extraordinary skill at facilitating a dynamic team building experience for over 60 members of our staff has enabled our agency to continue to adjudicate Medicare appeals under our statutory time-frame, and exceed our goals and Agency expectations. I look forward to discussing how to design additional training curriculum that can help our Agency continue to innovate and identify additional efficiencies.
